The situation in Madagascar is difficult to describe. That really is too confusing a story, but there is extreme poverty and that creates countless undesirable situations. In many ways, people are exploiting their own land. By setting fire to everything or chopping it down, there is still little decent living environment for animals and not really for people either. Climate change is also visible here, whether distressing or not. Clean drinking water, hygiene, education, infrastructure, it is all hard to find. There is really a shortage of everything except rice.
The saddest thing I've heard said was: It's too late, It's too late for Madagascar! From a reasonably prosperous country to total poverty! Doing nothing doesn't work at all! Things done don't change, we can't reverse it, but we can change it NOW! Donate!
Another way to help the population is of course to go there and discover it yourself. You can visit many of the projects mentioned above and leave your money there. The population is very rewarding and they want to earn money from you.moratravel.com
