Self-reliance and creativity in children is super fun to watch. A couple of handsome boys who were practicing somersaults a little further from our beach hut... Beautiful parts filmed until it is completely spoiled by a horde of children who all want to be funny on screen. I don't know how to give myself an attitude, try to film around it as much as possible and concentrate on the boys who practice agility and dexterity to perhaps become acrobats later. Until it is no longer tenable and this 'Waza' (white foreigner) has to suffer. I would prefer to smash them one by one against the ground and press them into the sand with my foot... but yes, that's so unfriendly and there are too many of them so you don't do that. However, this is the moment when the sun goes down and the best light to continue with the film. Gritting my teeth with irritation, I turned around. I really think: What a bunch of kids!! That annoying attention seeker. I can hate them so obviously why I don't have them I suppose... went back 5 min later. The boys were still working on becoming acrobats, but the light had already disappeared and actually too dark to brew a nice ending to the film... Still managed to film a moving still life for almost 10 minutes. In the Netherlands we will put music to it and then it will be fine and I will forget the misery that a youthful invasion entails...
